Snow makes me so excited and cheerful! I love everything about it! The way I see it is in the winter if it is going to be cold outside then it needs to be snowing!!! Although for the most part this does not happen in the south it did tonight! So I obviously could not resist the need to go for a midnight walk in the snow! I grabbed my Liz Claiborne baret, my Coach scarf and my Calvin Klein wool coat and headed outside for some pictures. For all of my friends up north I know this doesn't look like much in the line of snow but here in the south I'll take what I can get!
Snow always brings back such exciting childhood memories such as the time when our dog Goliath pulled the sled my brother and I were riding in right into a telephone poll or snowball fights in the backyard.
There is just something so simple and straightforward about the beauty of snow. It just makes you want to be out in it whether you're playing or just going for a walk. It makes us slow down, stop multitasking and enjoy the sheer elegance of nature. That, to me, is what elegant style and fashion should do as well. It should be simple and straightforward. It should make us stop and enjoy for a moment the beauty of something truly unique. It should, just like the snow, make us forget the multitasking, the emails, the text messages awaiting replys and bring us back to a time in our lives when things were simpler and time was for enjoyment.

Suiting Up!
Hello sassy people! Today I was lucky enough to have the day off from work so I decided to dress up for my errands which included a trip a local asian market and a stop for little miss Lola at Petsmart. I opted for a more masculine look today ( I finally found a vest that fits and I was DYING to wear it!!!) and added heels and delicate jewelery to keep it a little on the feminine side =)

Bebe Gray Striped Jeggings
I was going through some older pictures on my computer this morning and stumbled across this set of pictures I took in the fall. While it is too cold today where I live to wear this I think that on the warmer winter days that we here in the south often have this outfit would be perfect. I especially love to wear looks like this when it is rainy or cloudy.(Though I would personally opt for closed toed shoes if it were raining because I'm a weirdo and I HATE it when my feet get wet.) I don't know there is just something about wearing dark colors on rainy days that just seems right to me. ( Maybe it's just me?)
Jacket: Wet Seal
Scarf: Anne Klein
Shirt: Banana Republic
Jeggings: Bebe Addiction (These are my go to pants when I am in a hurry. They are the most comfortable pants, they are the perfect length and color and I practically live in them!)
Shoes: Yoki

Happy New Year!
I find myself facing this new year with determination, optimism, and a clearer head than I had in 2013. Although I must confess that I am also a little anxious about what is to come in 2014. Something about the unknown and fears of life not quite turning out that way I would like. (Don't worry, I'll always find something to stress out about.)
For the most part I am excited for a new year and a fresh start! I also plan starting a schedule for my posts here on Stash Of Sass. Last year I tried to go without a schedule and I feel like there were week where you guys didn't hear a peep from me and some weeks where I was probably talking too much. I'm also thinking about adding a Lifestyle section to this blog. ( What do you guys think? Do you want to hear about my cooking endeavors, restaurants I've enjoyed during my travels or the way I like to decorate my place? Let me know?)
Now for the dress! I have worn this dress for New Years almost every year since I got it. I feel like a famous actress every time I put it on. ( I think its the sequins.) I adore the color of this dress and have found over the years that it is not an easy color to find. ( which is good because everyone's not running around in it. and bad because well I love this color and can never find it to buy in stores!) I really lucked out when I came across this dress a few years ago in a small consignment boutique in Greensboro. It was one of those I saw it, I wanted it, and when I tried it on and when it fit without alterations I about cried! Although as I looked over the pictures for this post I noticed that the lighting was not quite doing this dress justice. ( I was NOT happy about it AT ALL!) So please keep that in mind as you view these pictures.
Happy New Year!
