In My Red High Heels!

The weekend is finally here ladies and gents! Do you guys have any fun and exciting plans for Valentine's Day? To be honest, I do not. I will more than likely being working on an essay for my business law class and putting the finishing touches on a paper for American literature but as I have said before such is the life of a student :) Who knows, I might finish early in which case I will get some creative work done on my designs for the spring!
Anyhow, I thought for the third fashion week outfit I would feature a look with a little more of an artsy vibe to it. The dogwood on the t-shirt is actually one of the first designs I ever put on a t shirt way back in high school and I have had the red skirt for years as well. Hope you guys like it and have a Happy Valentine's day and a great weekend!

Sweater: Love Tree (thrifted)
Skirt: Forever 21 (purchased before I was aware of the negative impacts of fast fashion on the environment and the people in foreign countries who are often forced to work way too many hours in poor working conditions to meet our overwhelming demand for these trendy product which are often unfortunately discarded just as quickly as they were purchased!)
Shoes: Rampage
Bag: The Limited (thrifted)

PS: If you guys are unaware of the negative impacts of fast fashion and the unethical practices that many clothing brands allow in the production of their clothing I encourage you to do your own research about your favorite brands. I plan to begin posting more about this topic in the near future but I think it is very important for everyone to do their own research and develop their own opinion's on the matter. Don't just take my word for it!

All Black and Blue

Hey guys as promised here is outfit number two in celebration of fashion week!!
I actually haven't put this dress on in while. It use to be one of my favorites a few years back when I worked in retail and went out regularly :) I actually pulled it out of my closet as I was going through some clothes and decided that despite it's age it still looked pretty good for a simple night out or drinks with the girls. If I were going to wear this dress during the day I would pair it with black tights and heels or over the knee black boots. I also tend to keep accessories to a minimum when ever I wear body con dresses. I opted for a classic trench coat instead of a leather crop jacket just to add a bit of sophistication to the over all look.
I know its a pretty simple look but in my experience those outfits are the best especially for those " I don't know what to wear" days or the " Holy crap I am running super late" days!!!
I hope you guys are having a wonderful week!

Fashion Week 2016

Hello sassy people of the world! Are you guys excited about the start of New York Fashion Week 2016? Honestly, I feel like it came out of no where this year but never the less I am super excited that all the fun starts today in the Big Apple! I wish I could say that I would be among the fashion frenzy in New York City but as a full time student I don't really think that my professors would except fashion week as an excuse to miss class for several days. ( I also don't think I would be allowed to reschedule the exams and papers I get to look forward to over the next few days.) Such is the life of a student. I know one day it will pay off and honestly I really enjoy being in school again!
Anyway, for fashion week I plan to post daily outfits starting today until the end of fashion week on the 18th. I hope you guys like what I have in store for you this week and if you are one of the lucky ones in New York City for fashion week right now please leave a comment telling me about one of you favorite fashion shows, favorite place to eat during fashion week or a fashion week moment!
Have a great fashion week!

Hello all! When I woke up this morning to a cold, dreary Monday I dreaded getting ready for my day. Please, allow me to explain,  I currently live in the southeast so I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to weather in the winter. Lately it hasn't been cold enough to even feel remotely like December much less a few days before Christmas but today it actually felt a little like winter so I decided to layer. Lately, when it is actually cool enough, I have enjoyed playing with different ways to layer patterned leggings with my torn-up jeans. I find that its a great way to incorporate, light wash, destroyed denim into a winter look. While the look above it not the exact look I wore today it has the same silhouette and overall idea.
As always let me know what you guys think and also let me know if you would like for me to post a winter look book for cooler weather.
