Fashion Flashback

Hey guys! Today I just wanted to create a quick post showing you guys an outfit I wore back in September for a birthday dinner with some very close friends of mine. I had intended to post this outfit shortly after the actual dinner took place but then got distracted by work and such. So, yes, anyway here it is. I really love these shorts from Bebe! They are really fun to style with and make this classic outfit look a little bit more trendy! The shoes from Frederick's of Hollywood really sass up the entire look and the Blazer by Kimchi Blue adds a nice pop of color to the black and white color scheme.
Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Sequins and Dresses

So as I mentioned in my previous post I would like to start posting fashion collages of my favorite pieces for you guys to see. I figured I would just post this one to see if you guy like the idea and then work from there.
So I'm not sure if it's because of the holidays coming up or if it's because I've been watching a lot of Gossip Girl re-runs while I've been at home recovering lately but I have really been into sequins lately! I pretty much want them on anything especially skirts and dressed. I have also been looking for the perfect sequined blazer which, sadly, I have yet to find. In addition to sequins I have been addicted to nude colored heels! I love the curved detailing on the pumps as well as the fact that they lack a platform.( I know, having the platform makes them more comfortable but the single sole really is more timeless and chic! I promise... it's worth it.) The booties are just so intricate and edgy and I would pretty much live in them seeing as they would match everything! Finally the Very Versailles bag looks like the perfect school or work bag! The contrasting design makes a statement without being too overwhelming and the classic black and while color scheme would match almost anything!

Update: Where I've been and New Ideas for SOS!

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope everyone had a relaxing, fun and filling Thanksgiving! I know you guys haven't heard very much from me lately with all of the projects and work I've taken on I have let a lot of things I really enjoy including Stash of Sass fall by the way side. In addition to that I also had my wisdom teeth removed and the were some complications with that as well. So with that being said I have had a good bit of free time to focus on recovering, studying Japanese ( another thing I have been neglecting lately) and new ideas for Stash of Sass. One of those new ideas is to put together collages featuring pieces from some of my favorite stores that I absolutely fall in love with! I would post the details for the pieces featured in case any of you want to buy the items and the collages would act kind of as an update of what kind of cool pieces are out there on the market right now. I can't decide If these collages should be posted biweekly, weekly or monthly so let me know what you guys think! Also, a friend of mine suggested recently that I bring back my Deal of the Month posts so I have been thinking about what to feature for this month's deal.
Let me know what other posts and fashion topics you guys would like me to cover! Would you guys like to see more How To Style posts or seasonal lookbook type posts?  Or do you prefer outfit of the day and going out outfits? Or do you wanna see all of the above?

Yin and Yang

Hello All!
Today I figured I'd post a couple fashion collages of outfits I took pictures of but never actually found the time to post on the blog. The first outfit is a great date night outfit and is made up of mostly black accessories making it the 'Yin" outfit of this post. The second outfit was built around an all white dress making it the 'Yang" outfit of this post. The white dress was definitely an example of me branching out from my usual color scheme ( which consists of primarily dark colors) while the black and white patterned dress was a piece I've had in my closet for years and was my way of gradually introducing white into the dressy part of my wardrobe.
Hope you guys enjoy and have a great week!

Flats and Phin B. (A lazy Sunday Outfit of the Day)

Hello again!
For today I was feeling really relaxed and wanted to be comfortable while cleaning and rearranging my bedroom. So after I finished my coffee this morning ( ok... it was really more like afternoon.) I headed to my closet and pulled out this bodysuit from Gilly Hicks to throw on under the pink button down ( also Gilly Hicks) that I had worn to bed the night before. To complete the outfit I pick this shimmery skirt from Charlotte Russe that is both cute and comfy.
Hope you guys have a great week =)
PS: Emily's Cat Phineas ( aka. Phin B.) wanted to be a part of this post so she photo bombed/ would not move out of each of these pictures. She is modeling beside my favorite peachy pink ballet flats from j.crew.

An Italian Love Affair ( A collaboration post with Lover.ly)

Hello all! Apologies for my extended absence. My schedule has been packed with activities to both bring my summer to a close and bring autumn into the spotlight. Now I'm back with a different kind of post.
About a week or two ago I was asked by Lover.ly to put together a wedding collage. They gave me three different wedding locations ( Bora Bora, Italy and France) to choose from and asked me to pick out a dress from their shop that would fit the location. Can you guys guess which location I chose? While it was tough to chose between France and Italy I ended up going with Italy in the end.
I was going for a very feminine yet strong look. The dress itself is both structured with its fitted sweet-heart bodice yet flirty and fun with its full layered skirt. The beautiful beading on the bodice and the fact that the dress is more of an ivory color as opposed to pure white made this dress perfect for the setting.
When I saw the neckline on this dress my first thought was a layered pearl necklace the chunkier the better. I love this one by Tom Binns. It is a fun spin on the classic layer pearl necklace and the safety pins make the piece less serious and more down-to-earth. In addition to the necklace I also chose to accessorize with a tiara. I feel like it brings a very regal element to the look and is also symbolic of the responsibilities you are taking on and commitment you are about to make. Last but not least are these elegant heels by Jimmy Choo. Not only did I feel the were a perfect fit for the dress but I also liked that they were versatile enough to be worn with outfits long after you have both said I do.
Thank you so much to Lover.ly and Carolyn for reaching out! Hope everyone has a great week!

Floral Vintage Robert Courtney Dress: In honor of my Sweet Pea!

Hey guys! As some of you may already know I have a small garden in which my roommate and I grow an assortment of flowers and veggies. Ever since we started our garden ( way back in March) I have been looking forward to the day when my little sweet pea seeds would produce beautiful, bright, fragrant flowers. Well Stash Of Sass this morning I woke up and glanced outside my window to see the first sweet pea flower opening! I was so excited that I dashed outside (still in my PJs) to see it up close and take a few pictures. With that being said I felt the need to dedicate this post to my sweet pea flower. ( Yes I know I'm a dork.)
This beautiful vintage flower dress has lived in my closet for a few years and just as I was waiting patiently for my sweet pea to bloom I have also been patiently waiting for a reason to wear this bright and lively dress! With my sweet pea bloom as inspiration I decided today was the day to pull it out of my closet and I put together this simple, earthy outfit.
- I also included a few pictures of the sweet pea for you guy to see!-

A Fashion Forward Fourth!

Happy Independence Day Stash of Sass!!!!!! Today I figured I would post a quick Fourth of July themed post. I have really been loving the look of crop tops paired with pretty much anything high waisted. I am especially excited about high waisted skirts and crop tops. Ladies, I feel like this is one of the easiest ways to incorporate a crop top into your closet if you ( like me) are still a little reserved about showing too much skin. If I am pairing a crop with a skirt I do prefer for the skirt to have a little bit more length so I usually go for a pencil skirt as opposed to a mini skirt. Anyway, for shoes I went with my favorite pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals ( I pretty much live in these all summer) and I pulled the ensemble together with a white skinny belt with gold hardware. Overall I am excited about how minimalistic this outfit turned out. I really enjoyed letting the colors speak for themselves without too many accessories getting in the way.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post and have a fun and excited Independence Day!

Iron and Wine Concert

Hello Stash of Sass! On Saturday my friend Emily and I were lucky enough to attend the Iron and Wine concert at the NC Museum of Art! It was my very first concert (aside from the wide array of classical concerts I've attended)  and we both had a great time. The mood of the evening was soulful and relaxing which was exactly what we both needed in order to recharge after a long work week!
I chose to keep it simple and earthy in terms of fashion for the evening and opted for my new favorite high waist jeans from Abercrombie and Fitch ( I'm currently in love with all of their high rise denim right now!) and a gold detailed mint colored tank top. To complete the look I wore my mint and print (as I call them) wedges from JustFab and my favorite cross-body bag from Cristian.
Special thanks to Emily for taking pictures of my outfit at the show!

Patterned pants and neon

Hello all! After yet another long disappearance from Stash of Sass I'm back with a quick outfit of the day post. I am currently loving patterned pants for the spring, especially if they are cropped. I chose to brighten up this outfit with a bright coral colored t-shirt. I also included a few pictures of my current nail color ( which I can not for the life of me remember the name of.) I chose to pamper my self for my birthday and go to a salon to get my nails done instead of doing them at home which is why I can't simply go check the name of the color on the bottle. Sorry guys =(
